Double Hurt
I didn’t want to do it
To follow you that way
But I had to know the reason
You broke our date today.
I saw you in the Café
I saw her by your side
You had your arm around her
I know now why you lied.
I saw the love between you
I saw the laughter there
Both of you looked happy
You made a lovely pair
My heart is aching badly
Our love is at an end
You couldn’t even tell me
You were dating my best friend.
Life at College
Nine thirty is what time we start
With Sam at the ready to do her part
CVs is what we are doing now
Oh my god but we don’t know how
Sell yourself is what Sam said
Your future employer don’t want no air head
Janet strolls in with her big heavy bag
Hold on girls I just need a fag
Dinner times over we sit in our seats
To do our touch-typing we read from the sheet
Advanced on the left and beginners on the right
Oh! Core blimey that must look a sight
We have Jane in the corner with her stiff neck
Who gets on and does it an says what the heck
With Donna beside her what can I say?
She’s happily sat there tapping away
We also have Michelle who cuts peoples' hair
She plays in a Rock band: let us know, we’ll be there
With Karen beside her all eager and bright
And constantly saying “Oh was she alright?”
Now there is Natalie who wants a new home
Good luck to you girlie! Now get off your phone!
Last but not least we’ve now got to me
Nutty and scatty and mad as can be
Embolden, Italics, Underscore and delete
We all have each other and new friends to meet.
My Brother Vince
It all began in ‘73
The 30th of January, as you can see
A Rovers supporter he became
That poor old Ref was always to blame.
He’s at the gym three times a week
To pump some iron, cause he isn’t petite
He also likes horses, when they win their race
You’ll know if he’d won just look at his face!
Now it’s your Birthday, Yes! It’s arrived
Let’s not go to Caddies it’s known as the dive
Hey! Remember you asked me for that sub?
Put your hands in your pockets, let’s go to the pub!
Now all joking aside, this is sad but true
My Brother Vince, this is all for you.
My Guardian Angel
I look at the stars as they shine so bright
Twinkling and sparkling, what a beautiful sight
As I go to bed and say my prayers
I’m asking god what my life bares
All frightened and scared I close my eyes
Take a deep breath and release a big sigh
During my sleep the nightmare appears
As I wake up screaming and shaking with fear
The Beast is here! The Beast is here!
Please help me god you said you’d be near
As I looked around I saw nobody there
I say to myself does anyone care!
I live in fear as each day goes by
Ducking and diving I’m not ready to die
Please help me god, just give me a sign!
I feel like I’m crazy or losing my mind
You gave me that sign and I’m glad to say
‘A Guardian Angel’ to guide me the way
I thank-you god for answering my prayer
As I know that my Angel is special and rare.
My Mate Hannah
Can you remember when we first spoke?
It was in a chat room exchanging jokes,
On me Buddy List you then went,
With me mail box bursting with what you had sent.
The start of our friendship, this is strange but true,
Was when I was sent a Questionnaire from you?
I did all me answers cut and pasted it too,
As you IM'ed me right out of the blue.
It's got to that stage; yes I'll give u a clue,
I can tell you anything, confide in you too,
You've been there for me, as I have been for you,
It's what we buddies are here to do.
We talked for hours of good times and bad,
I even know Hannah, when you’re feeling sad.
From that first day I would never have knew,
I'd have such a good friend as I have in you.
The Tears Were Mine
In infant school we shared a desk
I thought we got on fine
But, when he pulled my pigtails
All the tears were mine.
At twelve to different schools we went
I sent a Valentine
But, when we met he turned away
And all the tears were mine.
At seventeen and quite grown up
I still thought him divine
He asked my best friend for a date
And all the tears were mine.
A bridesmaid at their wedding
I smiled an gave no sign
Of how my heart was breaking
But all the tears were mine.
Godmother at the Christening
I proudly stand in line
And hope that all the photographs
Don’t show the tears are mine.
My Uncle Dan
If I had three wishes
And they all came true
My first wish would be
I’d play football with you.
Now on my second wish
I’ve thought hard and long
I’d wish for your strength
To be there when I’m gone.
I’m now on my third wish
This is dear to my heart
To have you as my Uncle
We’ll never be apart.
Teardrops
If teardrops were a stairway and memories were a lane
I'd walk the world to bring u back again
A beautiful memory woven in gold
This is the picture i tenderly hold
Deep in my heart your memories are kept
To love, to cherish and never forget
My thoughts go back as they often do
To bless the seconds i spent with you
Today, tomorrow my whole life through
I'll always love and remember you.
